The valve is a device commonly used in power plants. It is operated by a handle or a hand wheel. Under normal circumstances, the rotation of the handle and the handwheel clockwise is defined as the closing direction, and the counterclockwise rotation is defined as the opening direction. However, the direction of opening and closing of some valves is opposite to the above, and you should pay attention to check the opening and closing signs before operating.
In normal operation, if you do not pay attention to the accurate operation method, it will cause premature valve damage and even cause an accident. Practice has proved that incorrect operation of the valve can easily damage the valve handwheel and handle, scratch the valve stem and sealing surface, or even crush the sealing surface, causing valve damage, which will have a greater impact on the normal production of the power plant.
Manual valve operation:
1. The proper wrench should be used for manual valve operation. It is strictly forbidden to operate the small valve with a large wrench, and the large valve is operated with a small wrench. It is strictly forbidden to add a stiffener to the wrench.
2. Stand on the side of the valve handwheel when operating the valve. It is strictly forbidden to stand in the direction opposite the valve stem to prevent the medium in the pipeline from leaking from the valve packing and hurting people.
3. Use a wrench to operate the manual door. Before operation, the wrench and the valve hand wheel must be locked firmly to prevent injury caused by skidding. (Especially standing on the ground that may slip)
4. The operation should be performed with arm strength, and it is strictly forbidden to rely on the gravity of the body to prevent the wrench from slipping and falling.
5. When operating valves of acid and alkaline pipelines, there is a possibility of system leakage. Valves that are in direct contact with acids and alkalis must wear labor protection supplies that protect against acid and alkali injuries, and have special personnel to monitor and take preventive measures.
6. The operation of each soda sampling valve must be carried out by hand. It is strictly forbidden to use a wrench. Gloves should be worn during operation to prevent burns. If there is a leak, fireproof clothing should be worn.
7. The operation of the double door of the boiler water pump must be performed by hand, and the two handwheels must be alternated.
8. During the operation, if it feels heavier, go back and then do it again, and then alternately operate until the valve is opened or closed.
